Ultimately, financial stablility is the primary goal of this project. Gaining the skills to land a job making at least $10.00 per hour and being able to support your family is something that the WDP can help you achieve.In order to be a part of the WDP you must have a high school diploma or GED. Once you have been accepted, you will meet with your Case Manager to identify any barriers to success.Vocational testing will be completed and an appropriate learning center is chosen. A Vocational Plan will be completed. You will attend the learning center of your choice to complete your vocational training.
You will enter in a job search and gain employment while keeping in contact with your Case Manager. You Graduate! Your Case Manager will conduct an exit interview and remain in contact for at least 6 months.
The Nevada Women’s Philanthropy Employment Project
(NWPEP) Employment

A steady, reliable source of income for men and women is the focus of the NWPEP. Getting you in the door and helping you stay there is something that the NWPEP can help you accomplish. If you do not have a high school diploma or GED the NWPEP can give you referrals to resources that will help you obtain one. Once you have been accepted, you will meet with your Case Manager to identify any barriers to success.A Case Plan will be developed for job preparation. You will write a resume, complete a master application and practice interviewing. You will enter in a job search, find a job that meets your immediate needs, and become employed. Your Case Manager will stay in contact with you for your first year of employment to ensure job retention.
You Graduate! Your Case Manager will conduct an exit interview and stay in contact for up to 6 months.
Service providers
Do you believe that FIT might be able to serve some of your clients? Are you looking for a place to refer people who are seeking employment or training? Currently, FIT assists low-skilled, unemployed or underemployed individuals with two projects: the Workforce Development Project (WDP), which assists people with funding for vocational training, and the Nevada Women’s Philanthropy Employment Project (NWPEP), which assists men and women with job preparation and employment retention.
Please feel free to refer clients who meet the following minimum requirements:
- Be at least 18 years of age.Be a United States citizen or permanent resident
- Be drug and substance abuse free for at least 6 months and commited to remain that way.
- Be in good standing with child support payments and/or be willing to pay according to the ruling of the courts.
- Agree to random drug testing.
- Agree to background check, including employment history and police records.
- Be focused and motivated to work actively toward independent living and the chosen career goal.
- Have a high school diploma or GED (WDP Only).

Are you interested in becoming a client at FIT? Do you believe you could benefit from our services and support?
Candidates Must:
- Be at least 18 years of age

Once you have been accepted into the FIT program you will become a client.
Clients Must:
- Agree to attend training/employment with minimal absenses
- Authorize progress reports from the school and trainer to FIT
- Upon completion of training, actively seek employment in the field for which training was provided
- Agree to contact your caseworker on no less than a weekly basis
- Agree to keep all scheduled appointments with your caseworker
- Agree to provide FIT with employment and income information throughout participation in both programs and up to 1 year following program completion
- Agree to inform FIT of changes or address and telephone number within 72 hours of change throughout participation in both programs up to 1 year following program completion
- Posses the mental ability, focus and motivation to be a candidate for success in the program you choose
